The history of Helios Light Bulb Factory, a manufacturer of specialized light bulbs, dates back to the 1930s. Today, Helios' mission is to provide high-quality specialized products. The company plans to develop its research and development activities. A modern photometric laboratory will be established, allowing for more accurate, advanced work aimed at a thorough understanding of light sources.

Helios Incandescent Lamp Factory – company history

In 1933, Roman and Hermina Frischer, together with Maurycy Weissberg, founded the "Helios" Incandescent Lamp Factory in Katowice. The rapid development of the company meant that at the outbreak of the war in 1939, the factory had modern machinery (including equipment from Brückner, Pfeifer, and Gladitz), two glassworks (in Siemianowice Śląskie and near Tarnów), a cardboard packaging factory in Sosnowiec, as well as a sales network developed both domestically and abroad. In 1945, the plant was nationalized, and five years later, its modernization and expansion process began. A new hall was opened, utilizing modern production lines from companies such as Philips and Tungsram. In 1970, Helios was incorporated into the state-owned lighting combine. The name of the plant was changed several times, but despite this, the character and development policy of the enterprise were maintained.

In the 1990s, the process of adapting Helios to new economic realities began. In 2003, the company was awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification. Seven years later, in 2010, the Ministry of State Treasury issued an invitation to negotiate the acquisition of shares in the Katowice-based company, thus initiating the privatization process. On November 17, 2011, ISKRA P.S.A. acquired a majority stake in HELIOS Light Bulb Factory.
